Here is a great vid I came across showing the differences between the GoPro Hero and Hero 2.  It gives a great rundown of the features and pits them against each other resulting in an easy to see winner.

Original untouched pictures, absolutely no color grading or any quality corrections. Although the same angle of view, the cameras have a slightly different field of view. my HERO2 pros:
- A clear improvement in image quality, more detailed, sharper image
- Improved management of white balance (movies are noticeably warmer color which is good for non-post-production-users)
- New video modes (and badass 120fps)
- Tons of useful new features
- Quality in low light doesn't makes your ass explode, but it is very useful
- almost excellent hardware build quality

cons:
- Sometimes the image corners are little bit burned
- Sometimes has a tendency to little bit over exposure movies
- The camera itself seriously heats up (but not overheat!) after several minutes of recording
- 90° Narrow mode is damned noisy

Its not often I get excited but this discovery has had me blowing my techy beans all over the place. There is available a 4.2mm Lens that reduces the distortion created by the normal Gopro lens and sounds fairly easy to change and cost next to nothing to boot. The lens can apparently be used in all shooting modes and can still be interchanged with the original lens although after fitting the new lens the Gopro will not fit into the waterproof case. Im sure the lens can be changed to fit this though.

To change the lens the Gopro needs to be opened up, the original lens removed by unscrewing and the new lens screwed in and the focus set to between 5m and 10m. I have ordered one of these lenses and will post a small tutorial on how to change over.

Hey people, I tripped over these guys while flitting around Vimeo today and felt the need to share what their up to. I have made a few of these mounts myself for use with GoPro's but I think these guys have nailed it. The mounts are robust and affordable and as can be seen from this footage, it gives a great perspective of snowboarding. 

Felt the need to post some up to date tips and tricks as its been a while since I updated the tech side of things. Found a great little vid on how to change your GoPro lens from the fisheye to the flat underwater lens.  Hope it helps some of you guys out and underneath it is a little timelapse vid from the same guys using an interesting egg timer type mount.

Happy 2012 people, Im still in Oz enjoying the festivals and the pies with some good wind and blue skies. Spent NYE at Peats Ridge festival watching Goyte and some class Australian bands, if you like Dubstep and D and Bass have a look at "the Bird", a live act that got me bouncing around their whole set. 
 I had to share this video I found as it left me with so many questions about how and has inspired me to pester GoPro to lend me 30 cams to play with, so if anyone from GoPro reads this, which I very much doubt, send me a message. I promise to return them after use......

The rig used for this really interests me and the guys arms must of been hanging out as he held all of these but the result is unique and jaw dropping, can't wait to see more.........
